Isn't this store-by-store? I saw a red Silhouette HSH for $890 at San Jose GC a couple of months' ago (ack should have picked that one up but I'm more of a HSS-person.)

I got an email invitation to a sale this weekend. They can't post prices Online. You have to go into the store and ask for the list.

What's the background on the Island Burst? It looks close to Tobacco Burst.

Is it really Tobacco Burst, but renamed Island Burst for Guitar Center?

You can go to your local GC and have them search all their stores inventory and see if they can find what you are looking for at another location and then they can ship it to the store for you to check out. By any chance, has anyone seen a nice quilt top Axis SS at their local GC? Particularly one with a BFR rosewood neck, my local store is having a hard time finding one.

Wow well they blew out just about all of the 25ths as there are only 3 left, one in California, Washington and Missouri.I had not looked at the Platinum room web page in Months till this thread and there are a lot of guitars gone as they had something like 21 pages last time and are now down to 14.

i grabbed one of them......prices were too good to pass up. i don't think i had ever even looked at the platinum link on there, until slav brought it to my attention. i did have one of my local GC's with a NOS 25th on the wall. it was quilt and i wanted flame, so i purchased one from the platinum site. i have to say one thing about the platinum site. they do a great job with the photography. i don't know if they do the images corporately in house, or if they do it on a store level. regardless, the images are excellent and made my buying decision a little easier.

now if the guitar would just get here!

*****just so you guys know. there is a 25th quilt/maple/trem at GC in Englewood, Co. $1750**** it was still there a few days ago.

I don't know how consistant they are about where they list guitars. I was in one of my local GC stores and noticed a non-ebmm guitar that had an "older" date code and it was brand new and marked at 60% of their street price. It was the only one marked at this price that I could find. Checked the clearance site and it wasn't there. Looked in used and there it was. Sometimes I feel like GC is trying to hide these great deals.

jack - like you (and others) have pointed out before - i think their inventory is so large and they have so many locations and employees that they can't keep it straight. all it takes is one employee who isn't paying attention and something gets an unusual price. i was just looking at the used gear and saw what they are calling a "reflex". appears to be a SuperSport. maybe a silver one? for $849. sometimes i'm not sure that they know what they are doing.....or like i said, their hands are just so full that they just can't keep up with it. i don't want to bash GC. i manage people and inventory as well....sometimes it's difficult.

Exactly how I acquired my 25th. It was advertised as a 25th Anniversary,Axis Supersport(No such animal). I 'stole' this guitar because, admittedly, they didn't even know what a Reflex was. Crazy, huh?
