GC screws the pooch - the sequel

Someone shot me for listening to my GC salesman!!! He swore up and down that my Radiance Red Bongo 5HHP would be in last week. I believe the words "100% positive" were used- several times... wrong... turns out it is in the "buffing" stage and is 2-3 weeks out. Wouldn't be a problem except that the band booked shows based on me having my 5ver this week (I had to sell both of my 6 strings to pay for the new 5 and Kermit). GC offered a "loaner" SR5 - but the last time one of my friends took them up on that kind of a deal he chipped the headstock and got slammed with some fees - so no loaner for me.

So cancel one bass, and just ordered a D. Gold Bongo5 HH from BassNW which will be here by Friday (talk about cutting it close). Doesn't have the piezo but I have really started to dig the DG color (comes with a white ice pg and I am ordering a Tort from Boots). Picts will be up when it arrives.

Should have listened to Jon (atleast GC made things right on their end and BassNW gave me a d@mn good deal!!! - even beat Gard at BassCentral).

I believe it was Jon who was saying that if someone on the sales floor GUARANTEES your ordered bass will be there on a certain date, then that someone is smoking crack.

I have a rough idea of when my Green Bongo should be here, but I ain't holding anyone's feet to the fire over exact dates. Luckily, I think I have a Bongo around here to play while I wait. Heh heh.

Last I knew Bryan Boots wasn't making HH config p/g's yet. Just the H/SC. When you talk to him make sure he knows you need HH.

Yep, I asked my music guy for a date and he told me "dude, there's no way to know until we get close to September then we'll call mid-September to try and get a date". I appreciate him not shining me with empty promises. That's one reason I like dealing with him.

Luckily, I think I have a Bongo around here to play while I wait. Heh heh.

Now that's mean...Just plain mean

ya ... screw GC. I got the shaft from them a couple years ago when ordering an swr head (for some reason a manager cancelled my order, nobody called to tell me about it yada yada ... long story)

id really like to never deal with them again, but their prices are great sometimes.
