Well another disappointing trip to Guitar Center, I know this has been talked about but I will beat the dead horse some more.
Went to show a buddy a MM guitar so he could see why I like them so much and I also needed to buy some RPS 9-42.

Well needless to say no strings third one I have been too without them, and this one had ZERO EBMM guitars, and just a couple of basses.
Just highly dissappointed.

Dude, I think I have mentioned this a few times. The GC on 635 has at least 6 EB guitars in the center of the store. At least one luke, one JP, two axis' and a couple of others. This is one of the featured stores in the Metroplex. They have had EB guitars constantly in stock for at least 4 or 5 months now. A decision has been made by GC and EBMM that Not every GC will be stocking MM guitars, it is a simple fact. Don't keep going to ones that aren't stocking in hopes that they will have a bunch in stock suddenly. Its just not going to happen.

Plus - receivers and handsets are part of two separate departments and are separated at arrival. So, if the phone rings, the person standing next to it may not actually be able to answer.

My RPS are coming from the local Music-Go-Round. I get no RPS love from any of the GCs around here.

SE, you have and I apprciate you telling me. We went to the newest location in Lewisville which is far removed from the others just thought they would have them, but still should stock strings and I could go on with other horror stories from the trip but it all good. Just needed to rant.

Yep can relate and what is worse, when they say we dont have them , they do not even try to sell me another type of ernie ball strings but other brands.

Oh brother...What's with the RPS strings? Locally, I can only find them at the local Music-Go-Round. Otherwise, it's going to have to be an internet purchase for me.

OK me thinks my point is being missed, we you I are on this site because we love ernie ball products and MM guitars and basses and I live in a large metroplex with an abudance of GC stores, I just think that you should be able to go in and at least see one, if I lived in BFE I would understand and the string thing is something else!
Well enough of this thread please delete ASAP!

Fing this is an exchange of ideas and people can correct you and you can either accept it or whatever.

THanks for your passion but WE DONT MAKE ENOUGH>>>>>>to continually blame guitar center just is tired. If I didnt have Guitar Center on allocation they would buy 100% of my domestic production. That is bad business....We need a healthy mix of Internet, Mom and Po and chain stores.

RPS are greqt strings (my names is on the patent.) The internet is probably the best way to stay stocked up....

Sometimes, I'm a bit hesitant to call ahead, because I don't trust the people on the other end of the line to know what the hell I'm talking about.

BP I agree 100% with what you are saying and with the others, I certainly do not want GC to be the EBMM monopoly, and this is a free exchange of ideas and I respect the thoughts of all as I said I was just ranting and the release felt good, yes I am now resigned to an internet purchase for the strings which is OK and I guess even though it sounded like it I was not condemning GC, it was not my intent,I have and will buy from them, thats where I purchased my Luke.

Thanks for letting me rant.

NO problem but I think that people have no idea how hard it is to supply the worlds demand with a limited production. The fact is going to be that it will be hard to walk into any store and see a bunch of our axes.

I'm glad MM isn't just any run of the mill instrument that has over supply in every store. I like knowing that there's a big demand for these guitars and I'm not the only one that knows how great they are. Also means my instruments keep their value.

I put MM in the category of other hard-to-find items I'm looking for. Only way to find this stuff is to make a list of stores, call them, find out what's in stock before I go anywhere.
