George Fullerton, Leo Fender's longtime partner, passed away Saturday night, 7/4. He died peacefully in his sleep. My understanding is that he had been battling illness of late. Mr. Fullerton was in his 80s. I have no further details at this time.
George had his hands in Fender, pre-Ernie Ball MusicMan, Earthwood, G&L, and recently again at Fender with a commemorative Strat.
I met the man several years ago at a book signing, where he also signed the headstock of one of my basses. He was a truly nice man and very personable.
