Yes, but not the same tension as Dr's, which is something else I like about them.
But thank you for suggesting EB slinky strings,... 'tis an original suggestion in this thread.... ..
variety is the spice!....if we all had the same thoughts, tastes etc....it would be dead boring.

I just use Slinkies out of loyalty. I've never even tried to put another brand of string on my Bongo. Never even crossed my mind. Never mind that I've only had my Bongo about a month or so. :p

Actually, I had previously used another brand on my guitars. It's all Slinky now, though.

Yeah. I'm a fanboy. :D

I have nothing agains Boomers (cool name too) and I do like DR too, but what makes me love the slinkies is that they need less intonation correction than any other I have tried on my Bongos, they sound great and they are not too expensive.
That, plus I know that whatever dollar (or SEK in my case) I fork out on strings will go to the company with the coolest attitude, and that's no bs. I've been treated good by others, but with EB it just feels like we're really family.

I haven't been playing my SR much because it's a 4 - the Bongo 5 has been the one of choice lately. I bought it new, came with Slinkys and that's all I use on it. Most of the time the SR has GHS Boomers on it and I agree that the G sounds a little thin (even with 45-105). It's been a lot of years, but I need to put Slinkys on it.

DR's and EB's are my favorite in that order. The DR's are pricey, but I find they last. GHS, IMO are awful.. So are Rotosounds, but I know some people that love them..
