My buddy Kennan (a closet Bongo fan and an open admirer of Group III flats) is playing with Candye Kane these days and will be appearing at the San Luis Obispo Brewing Company on Friday, June 25th.

He says packages of Group III Flats will get you on the guest list (if there is a guest list).

Kennan is a legendary blues bassist who's backed too many of note here in Northern California before getting the Candy Kane gig. For those looking for some Old School blues bass, he's the man.

Jack: Kennan needs a Big Al, like yesterday. Maybe we can start a petition here.

"He's not a legendary blues bassist! He's a very naughty boy!"

I let him play mine when he was visiting a couple of weeks ago.

Truth be told, he favored (quietly, lads, let's not have this get out amongst the intertubes) the DD2 Bongo HS Fiver.

The Big Al would look good on his gig, though. He needs a four banger, however. YOU KNOW HOW HE IS.

Can't argue with the naughty boy aspect, but I'll know soon enough. I finally get to meet him on July 24th in Mountain View, we are sharing a bill together. I'll be playing my Rosy ASS with Frankie Lee; we come on after Candye to mop up Kennan's mess. ;)

Seriously, if BP wanted to put a 4-banger (whatever flavor) in some one's hands who's working hard on the blues scene, Kennan would be the one. 200+ shows/yr that Candye does, hint, hint...

A Bongo 4HS would be a monster blues machine for him. Definitely keep the devil down in the hole with that one.

A fretless Bongo 4HS. With Group 3 flats?

They'd have to change the act's name to KEENAN!! (w/Candye Kane, accompanying).
