Well, it's just a matter of:

a. having done it for a long time
b. sticking to very simple songs
c. knowing my limitations
d. having great basses!

I do talk pretty well....singing, well, Brian insists that I do it. It's not my favorite thing; I'd really be happy just playing bass.

Jack

ahh im missing part a.

You sound like my wife, talking about my 'imaginary friends'. (BP loves it when she answers the phone. He claims to be imaginary.)

I won't freak out when you speak, I don't think. You'll sound a lot like a girl, possibly with some sort of Australian accent?

Just a guess, though.

Oooh! Getting all my new serenades ready for November!

:D

Sorry I missed the gig, was cleaning up after myself at my sis' house where I was house and dog-sitting for the last 2 weeks while they were in Europe.

I love "Folsom Prison Wizard", very cool.

I'm on the lookout when we break into the Pinball Wizard bit....scanning the audience to check for that slight head jerk toward the stage...that rare and beautiful "WTF" moment.

And that hillbilly harmony vocal - when we first started trying it, I had a hard time getting through a verse without giggling.
