Girls are just as bad as guys.
They look at pictures of half naked men just as much as guys look at pictures of half naked women. Not saying it's right, because it's certainly not something that I support.. but I think pointing fingers at anybody for this is wrong. What I do not support is the objectification of people for sexual reasons, but I do not think that the human body is bad.. and I think that the girl is quite attractive(my opinion). Just clearing up some things so I don't get fingers pointed at me.
If there were ads of men modeling with amps or whatever, then I guarantee that girls will look at these pictures and objectify these men as much as guys do to girls.
There aren't too many folks that are innocent with this stuff, I think.

You wrote me a message that I received at 10:45pm on a Friday night and call me out for not having written you back yet at 3:07pm on Saturday afternoon. Then you cut and paste a customer service message that I sent to you personally on the forum and state that I have treated YOU with a lack of respect -- all the while not even bothering to consider that you may have disrespected a whole lot more people on this forum than just myself.
Thank you for having taken the picture down. I will respond to your e-mail when I return to the office on Monday morning.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Shnook. EB has never resorted to using sex in marketing and the advertisments we've made have won awards. We certainly don't need to hide behind a pair of juggs or even Smelly's bum to get our message across. The pictures and all of your responses just lack class, and I'd hate to see you drive away the few women we have here because you want to make locker room jokes about boobs and balls. If you haven't burned bridges there yet, why not just bring this stuff over to the DP where you'll get some better validation for it and be able to slap some virtual high-fives?
The point about this type of sexploitation advertising is it serves two purposes: 1) it cheapens the image of the product and 2) it cheapens the image of women in people's minds. Women now are at a lose-lose standpoint when they come to fighting the cheapening of them on a large scale: we've either allowed people to do it, or if we don't, we're forced to have people make judgements upon our sexual orientation.
My final thoughts: Dizzy must have had enough respect for me to ask me to skirt the regular channels and arrange for him to buy a pickguard direct from me in an email he sent just hours after he posted this thread.

The only reason I posted it here is that you made it public in your last post.
YOU brought the email topic here - and I finished it.
As for addressing not getting a reply via email :
I thought that over too.
- you've obviously got access to email, as you've read it.
- you've obviously got time to type, judging from your input on this topic.
- a simple "No Dizz, you'll need to contct your dealer" would have been suffice.
No need for the email reply - the answer is pretty clear.
You're still having a go at me about starting the thread.
BP's already addressed the content, warned everyone about not taking it too far, and let it live......
As I said earlier, I thought about this thread before posting.
I know it's subjective, but IMO that pic is pretty darn tame.

If you think that posting that pic even compares to publicising a simple, innocent & private email in an unwarranted attempt to shame the author of a thread you've taken offence to then I suggest your principles need re-evaluation.
The problem with people on their moral high horses is that they think the whole world agrees & needs to have the same opinions.
Whereas the real people (the VAST majority) will either laugh, or roll their eyes and think it's stupid - and then move on.

I will address the communication issue because this is a big problem here. Because Beth or any employee chooses to come here one their off hours is a plus for all. To question their time on their own time is not appropriate. Saying that because she read the email and then typed a response when you offended her that she has an obligation to respond. That is just plain entitlement.
The problem here is that the photo was tacky but you are correct that everywhere you look it is worse. It was the comments and the zeal in which the comments were added that was disturbing.
