I just picked up a GK 1001/212 combo. I know there are a few guys here with 1001RB-IIs and I'm curious as to what settings are being used.

I have a GK 1001RB-II

I have my Contour and Presence all the way to the right....

The rest of the EQ knobs are set to flat ( 12 O'Clock )
Then I just use the 3 Band EQ on my Ray to dial in the sound I want..

Is that your at home setting or do you gig like that? You are scooping your mids in a big way there. Seems like you wouldn't stand out too well on stage. I dunno........Just my 2 cents:)

I keep volume usually at 11 or 12:00, contour & presence set to zero, EQ all at 12:00, boost at 12:00, and woofer & tweeter set to desired volume.

I change it depending on the bass really. For my bongo I usually keep everything pretty flat and use the onboard EQ.

Contour & presence both under a quarter. EQ flat except for a small boost of low mid. Boost at about 1 AM, tweeter just after midnight and woofer at about 2 AM.

Thanks guys. I played with it a little tonight after work, but before seeing these responses. I'll definitely give these a try, but I did find that less contour seems to be better. It seems like the more contour, the more my SR5 seems to drift toward sounding like the crappy boat-oars I used to play.

I also found that it seems to sound better with the woofer at about 2 or 3 o'clock and using the input level to control the volume.
