I can't find any specs for the gold roller anywhere on the ebmm website or forum. Basically, there is one in the local shop and it looks like it has a roasted maple fretboard, but I wasn't sure if that was just the lacquer on the neck. This one has the BFR logo on the fretboard and no finish on the headstock.

So, can anyone supply the specs? Was there a run with roasted maple necks?

For anyone who doesn't know, I love them roasted maples. I drink the coolaid on a daily basis.

It looks like since the model has been discontinued, they don't have a link to any support pages. The gold rollers were part of some Limited Edition runs (Black Sugar, I believe). Your best bet is to get the serial number and post it in the Serial Number thread and ask for as much info as possible. The Gold Rollers were BFR model, so the logo should be there. If it has a roasted neck it could be an artist instrument, but the serial number post should let you know enough about it.

Good luck, Glenn |B)

That's a peculiar one, as the Gold Roller generally came with a headstock color-matched to the body. There were some roasted maple runs that were offered on the Gold Roller but with it having the BFR 12th fret inlay it really limits which ones it could be, as well as the color and body wood specs.

Post the Serial Number in the sticky thread or contact EBMM Customer Service directly, I'd be interested in seeing what it is. It may even be the original gold roller with an insane neck

Gold Roller WHAT? Aren't there manymodels of "gold rollers"?

The only Gold Roller through MusicMan was the Silhouette Gold Roller but there were several color packages offered over the years, so yes - it would be nice to have clarification as to which exact package it was.

Originally offered in Lucky Gold with matching headstock, a 24 fret maple neck & fretboard, African mahogany body, gold hardware, DiMarzio mini-buckers.

Limited edition packages: the BFR all-rosewood neck, BFR Black Sugar (black sugar finish with roasted maple gloss coated neck, ebony board), Dargie Delight 2 (Carmel apple w/ regular maple neck, ebony board), Honey Roasted (honey burst with roasted neck and pau ferro fretboard, SS frets, alder body), Neptune Blue (neptune blue with roasted neck, choice of fretboard, ss frets, mahogany body), Vintage Tobacco (latest offering) and a few others that escape my mind at the moment.
