ok so we all know that every instrument maker, luthier etc. has a "Golden Age" where there finest instruments are made

for example: (off the top of my head)

for fender it was the 1950's-1960's

for Antonio Stradivari it was 1698 to 1725

do you guys think that EBMM is in a Golden Age of instrument making?

I don't think EBMM will ever have a "Golden Age" because of one word: consistency. From what i have seen and in my experience with EBMM instruments, they are all consistent, they are all amazing. Every instrument is high quality, regardless of age, regardless of model, regardless of when it was made.

Consistency is one of the things that EBMM has over many companies.

They also keep coming up with better ideas constantly. The HH models have taken over my collection, they just sound so great!

Yes!!

However, because of the way the company is structured, I personally believe they will continue to excel even more in quality!!

As far as i'm concerned the day EBMM was born started the golden age of guitar/bass making.

You guys down at SLO are doing an amazing job. :D

Now IS That time

Sometimes I understand the old saying about not seeing the forest for the trees ... THe "Golden Age" for EBMM instruments is right about now or recently such as could be said the late 20th and early 21st Centuries .. the "Golden Zone" is right here on Planet EARTH:cool::)
Let's enjoy our good fortune:cool::)

I think the golden age was back in the 70s, since ernie ball took over it has gone steadily downhill.

Wait a minute...thats the OPPOSITE of what I think.

Fantastic, consistently.

Regarding the availability and pricing of good tone woods, the 60's and 70's may have had much more to offer than today. And the late 80's/ early 90's were great for all that cheap but gorgeus birdseye maple to be used many EBMM instrument necks.

Regarding the craftsmanship, the present is looking much better than the past. And the future is shining bright.

These basses are truly amazing! Built like a tank! I´ve only heard of one bass that had some problem with a faulty truss rod. ONE. And that bass was replaced right away.
