I slept late, blew off work and had coffee and a bagel with my two year old boy, who can look at Musicians Friend, the bass portion of the catalog, and tell you which bass is a Bongo.

my 2 1/2 year old daughter Abigail is just getting potty trained and she's already got daddy's routine down and usually asks for a "book" whilst doing her business and yes, that "book" is a copy of BassPlayer. She's not fully hip to the differences in basses yet but knows what's a bass a what's a guitar.:D

Goodmornin'!

Good afternoon now;
The sausage and eggs were delicious as with every morning,
then six hours of work, then trying to get a Crate B80XL to sound decent so I can use it as a practice Amp, my Washburn is not very satisfying either. The Fender I use at church has me spoiled.
Time for my afternoon nap before the antique auction tonight.
Blessings

I am afraid that if I will teach my child bass guitar, he will play piano or guitar in the end. So, no music lessons, maybe he will be a bassist just like daddy :)))

Haha... I was thinking about getting my little brother a small bass guitar so he can start on the instrument. He has shown interest in the instrument, especially the sounds of funk and disco. Lol. :D

However, I'm afraid a small bass guitar is an oxymoron. The sound would be really weak, thin, and high, right?

Hahaha. We must brainwash the new generation with bass guitar philosophies!

I had a small fender bullet (some kind of precision). Nice sound!

Unfortunately my three daughters aged 5, 3 and 17months simply walk around with their hands over their ears shouting "too loud daddy stop it!"

Hopefully they will all stay blond and become singers instead and I can market them as the next generation "Corrs" sisters.

In case anyone is not familar with the Corrs:

If you can't do that you're storing up a lot of trouble for 8 -12 years time. Cars, boyfriends, uni, partners, houses, weddings - no don't even think about it. You'd better make sure they become the new Corrs, you'll need the money. - lol

8-12 years time! - 8-12 MONTHS more like it!!

My 5 year old already has a serious crush on an 11 year old boy in year 6 and loves collecting shoes!!! - How am I going to cope with her when she is 11!!!

Money won't be a problem as I am waiting to hear if Tony Levin is planning to retire when he is 60 in a couple of years time, so I can apply for his job in Peter Gabriel's band. I am already 6'3 and bald with a Stingray, nobody would know the difference and I would be loaded!! - Stop daydreaming you idiot.

Thanks for the advice.

We can but only do our best in an increasingly difficult world to bring up children in.

Fortunately, my dad was always Superman to me even in my teen years and he still is.

I hope my girls will realise that it is "give and take" and that me not letting them go to a acid rave party when they are 13 is not me being a jerk for no good reason.

God help me!

It was a second hand from a friend, I payed like 200 $, I don't remember. But I remember it was a nice bass. In fact I am sorry now I don't have it anymore.
