Im after a Stingray but they cost a small fortune here in the UK and I'm hoping I can pick one up cheaper in the states and import it to England, can anyone recommend me some good sites to browse - preferably ones that stock 2nd hand rays as thats closer to my budget and I have to keep her indoors happy.

Give the boys at Strings and Things a call!

They've got a good range of pieces in stock, and you'll be able to take advantage of their top-notch customer service! You'll also have warranty coverage, and believe me -- that is a peace of mind that cannot be priced.

Also worth noting that alot of guitars being shipped into the UK from abroad are getting hammered with customs duty at the mo, which roughly works out at Vat (15%) plus a customs "admin and handling" charge (~6%) so it doesn't always work out as cheap as you would like, but good luck man.

Ill have to convert and hope I dont lose out on the rate then its the cost plus 3.9% plus vat of 17.5 % + 20 pound too.

Not sure of pound-v-yen but 'Ishibashi' in Japan may be worth a look. They usually have a nice selection of used MM in their "U BOX". I have only purchased a new instrument from them a couple of years ago and it came straight to my door without having to pay the expected taxes. I have heard of this happening to others in Australia before, but not sure if anyone has experienced this in the UK.
If you found one at a good price and factored in taxes you are expecting to pay, and then don't end up having to pay them then that is a great bonus.
Good luck.

and you should try the "Wanted to buy"-section too. Basically you can email any shop that also has used instruments and simply ask. Maybe also some forumite is willing to buy one for you and ship it over...
