The fire goddess is no longer a part of my life as of last night.

I know it's not good to get this messed up over a girl but we've been dating a bit over a year and it's just been great lately. Then she tells me last night that she doesn't want to live the life of a musicians girlfriend.

Damn does this suck. :(

Well Stank look at it this way. You may be singing about your next girlfriend with words from some '70's song I vaguely remember. "She's a rock and roll queen you know what I mean, and I'm just a rock and roll star ;).

I know it doesn't seem like it now, but there will be more girlfriends and maybe even a wife in the future. You're next girlfriend will be happy as a clam to live the life of a musician. They're out there, believe me. I've been there myself so I speak from experience. It sucks now, but it definitely will get better. You can bet on it.

Stanky man sorry to hear, but it will get better, doesn't feel like it now, but it will. Your young man and you have a lot of living to do. Take some time, and then move on, people will come and go from your life, just like this forum.

Sorry about that Stanky. The best thing you can do right now is keep your thoughts on other things as much as possible. Stay busy. You may need some alone time, but make sure you spend as much time as possible with your buds...even if you've pissed them all off putting the ho before your bros. And keep her off the list of topics of conversation. Rebounders are a quick way to get over it, but you always end up being the dick.

OK Stanky

First off it is never over until it's over. Remember the best part of breaking up is making up.

Nobody like the rug pulled out from under them. Sometimes it is the rejection that is what really hurts butyou are focused on her not wanting you. How about this. If this early in the game she leaves you for what you want to do for the rest of your life, then she is doing you a favor. If I was a plumber and my girlfriend told me she didnt want the plumbers life I would rather know sooner rather than later. If what I do makes a difference in true love than it isnt true love.

THe best thing is that the Desert Domination is coming and you can come here and mope or you can party like the rockstar that she doesnt want.

Here is how I look at it...and I like the firegoddess...(remember I named her) Why dont we check back in this deal in six months...Ill bet that the guy playing gigs being POSITIVE is going to have more exciting relationship opportunities in Smiths Station Alabama than the firegoddess. NOt a knock on her but after shes scoped out whats there a musician may look pretty good.

Now here is my prescription.......

DO NOT CALL HER>
DO NOT CALL HER DRUNK
DO NOT CALL HER LATE AT NIGHT
DO NOT CALL HER LATE AT NIGHT DRUNK
DO NOT DROP IN AT HER WORK
DO NOT DROP IN HER WORK DRUNK
DO NOT CALL HER MOTHER OR SISTER
DO NOT CALL HER BEST FRIEND UNLESS YOU WANT TO DATE HER
COME TO THE DESERT A FREE MAN AND MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY KNOWS YOU ARE THE STANKMAN!

DO NOT SELL BASSES BECAUSE OF A GIRLFRIEND GONE BAD (I JUST SAW YOUR THREAD)

EVERYTHING YOU FEEL LIKE DOING TO GET HER BACK DO THE OPPOSITE

Hey mate, it's always a bummer when things turn bad.

However, you are very lucky, you have age on your side. What I wouldn't give to be your age again.

Cheer up, you're going to have a great weekend, I'll even get you a Jagermeister, now how's that for a consolation prize. ;)

My wife used to call herself a band widow,Its not an easy life for our partners, but music is a part of us that we just cant live without. Its better for you both that you find this out now, however my wife and I nearly split up over the same issue (before we got married) we worked it out,so maybe you can too.

Love,Bubbles and Happy Smiles to you Stanky:D

Stanky, BP has great advice. It sucks now, but it will get better. Keep your head up and give it time. Surround yourself with good friends and good times and that can help pass the time.

Sending good vibes your way, Stankles! I hope that the both of you remain strong in these times.

I'm with Pops, if she really can't handle the musician's girlfriend's life then she is doing you a big favor. You wouldn't want to invest so much time and youth into a relationship, only to pop the question when you're 26 and watch her have this epiphany a few months after getting married. Not only that, both of you have a lot more adult epiphanies like these ahead, which will take a lot of resilience as a young couple to get through. Stay strong and listen to your hearts.

At first I was like "was it something we said?":( So, really, Stanky, was it something we said? I'm sorry for calling you out on checking out Orlando, Firegoddess! :)
