tyler's quck guide to getting the stink out of a case.

take the case outside and sprinkle an entire container of baking soda all over the inside of the case. then wet the case down, letting the baking soda soak into the lining. let it sit for an hour (better yet, let it dry completely) then rinse off all the baking soda. after it dries, it should be much mo' betta. i did this for a case that my cat pissed in and it completely removed the scent. it was the ONLY thing that even dented the stench. the case i did this to was a plastic molded peavey cirrus case.

Stink

I bought a guitar on the evil auction site and the case it came in smells like a skunk lived in it.

It's in perfect shape otherwise.

My wife made me put it outside.

I tried fabreeze.

I tried our carpet/upolstry cleaner, twice.

They just seemed to amplify the stench.

I'm about to pitch it.

I never had a cat so I don't know what that smells like.

I'll try the baking soda...

Thanks.

Wish I could've read this about 2 months ago. I had an Eden D115T cab I bought off a guy in California for cheap. Awesome sound, but smelled like a cat pissed inside it. Tried all the standard methods, 2 bottles of Febreeze, little tree air fresheners....you name it. Finally sold it for a loss, couldn't handle the rankness.

Actually, it worked out well because then I bought my D210XLT off of Gard at BC. Thanks kitty........

when i first received my Aterling, the case smelt of like a play-doh scent - very lovely, and it still smells liek that a year on, it's added a nice smell to my bass also :)
