Hi Everyone,
got this gorgeous used Sterling Bass, which is, from what i guess, from 1993 (question posted under S/N sticky thread).
The bass sounds great, especially the parallel sound gets pretty close to the Stingray-Sound, but with the comfy neck. I know there is the Stingray-SLO, but i just like those older basses...
Here´s some pics:

It came with a black pick guard:

But i prefer the white one

What is a little bit strange is the fact that no date stamp can be found on neither the neck nor the body:

Only letters i found were under the neck plate:

Looks somewhat like "REDT", which might stand for translucent red ???
Anyway, i have no indication that it would´t be a genuine bass, bridge, tuners, "made in SLO", it´s all there.

Great looking bass... Definitely the black guard though!

My guess would be early 1994.

REDT indeed stands for Trans Red - here's a pic from my 90 Ray...

I've had the necks off my Rays from that era but not my 94 Sterling but I'd say all the tooling marks look correct. Not sure what to make of the absence of any date stamps.

Maybe our extremely knowledgable moderator Rod Trussbroken will chime in?
