Hello all!
I have had a rather crazy experience with my JP, but it seems to now be over and I can focus on enjoying it. Finally!!!
The first one I order from GC came from another store and looked like it had been gigged with for a full year, so I return it and they order me a new one from EB. Ended up taking even longer than normal to get it due to a bad batch of necks (this was discovered during QC), but it finally arrives... only to have still another back bowed neck!
I knew something was wrong, but thought they were just high frets, or something. So I send it back and they confirm it was one of those weird necks that somehow slipped through QC. So, they have to make me another neck which takes several weeks, and add to that at least a week for shipping either way... and well, it took a while to get this guitar right. But BOY is it right!
Over the last 3 days, this has easily become my favorite guitar by a mile. The way Jon set this puppy up the only thing it needed was a slight tuning and a tad bit of truss rod adjustment. Thanks Jon, for doing such a good job. The action is exactly the way I like it. How did you know?
Before, I was impressed with the JP, but my experiece was limited to two damaged guitars, one that was played hard and way of a wack, and the other my new one with a bad neck that just never did feel right. NOW I see the addiction and love for these things.
I want another one now with piezos. I really want that orange-ish paint job, but it's discontinued, right? I LOVE that color more than anything.
Anyways, I'm trippin', bitches! I posted some pics below (I know Mystic is tiresome, but to me it's special!).
I love the striping on the rosewood!
It's purple... no, wait, it's green.
