I have 2 old Lukes from 93 and 94, both have floyds that really need replacements or at least a knife sharpening and a trem pot replacement.

Are the floyds that are on these guitar still made? A friend who works in a guitar shop ( a owner of 13 MM guitars ) said that the old floyds on the Luke models is a of special size ( a bit smaller than an original floyd ) and isn´t made anymore. He found this out when he bought some parts from Gotoh to his old Luke guitar and all the parts where to big.

Anyway, is any of this true? Can I buy fitting spare parts or whole Gotoh floyd roses to my guitars or am I screwed?

The Gotoh Floyd on my 93 has offset saddles which I dont think the newer ones have anymore. I dont own a newer one to compare each component side by side though.

They do still make a Floyd, although as someone else pointed out, the saddles aren't offset. ( I think that might have been a feature specific to the EVH). the Floyd they use currently will still work with it if I'm not mistaken.

Give CS a call, and they can set you up with replacements.

Are you still looking for this? I have an OEM replacement with offset saddles. I don't really need any money so I would consider trades of ........

I replaced the Floyd on my Luke years ago with another Gotoh Floyd, there is so size difference.

Scottie.

I also bought a Gotoh Floyd to replace the original, and it was too big. Be Careful !!!! There was a significant size difference. What I ended up doing was swapping the saddles from the Gotoh onto the music man plate, and it was all good. It did not solve the worn knife edges, but it improved the stability of the whole thing. It was an expensive way of replacing the saddles though....

I'm too in a process of getting a replacement bridge for my Luke1, so is there a specific model of GOTOH Floyds that are of a correct size?
