I had a slow month of Feb but things are really getting busy again.I am playing every week with my Wedding band,I have a great fun band on the go playing some old classic and some new rocky/chart music which is just a bunch of fun to play.
I just got booked to play bass on a new album for an Irish singer in June for 2 weeks.
and i got asked to do a talk at a festival about "the role of a bass player and what you need to know"
This came from a talk i had with a bunch of kids about 2 years ago just about how to set up your gear for stage sound and what gear you need.
This is for kids and is to give them a basic idea of what different basses will do and how to get the type of sound they want and go over some different styles of playing.I still believe tone comes from your fingers first
I will have my mark bass rig and my 25th (cant wait to feel the pain of watching a bunch of kids playing that!!) my bongo,my Stingray 5 and my 93 ray.
They are all going to bring their basses and rigs too so we can have a look at the set up and how to get the best from the rig.(btw a buddy of mine will be doing the set on their basses as i still dont trust myself after my bongo knob issue)
so a busy few months ahead to look forward to ! life is great
(the wife and kids are all in great form and my wee man diddn't need to go for an operation after all
)
