Hello everyone,

Just wanting to introduce myself. My name's Craig Whyms, I was the lucky bugger down here in Aus to win the Bill Palmer Outlines competition and won myself a silhouette special. I had heard a bit about EBMM guitars over the year but mainly about how good the basses are/were. I had been having a blast on this silo and also reading all the going's on on this forum. After a few weeks I came across Colin's website at Guitar Planet and after much deliberation I purchased a 20th Silo from Colin and that has just been another step up in tone/playability/flexibility and I am just so amazed at the amazing pieces of art that EBMM turn out.
Thanks Colin for all your help and making the process so easy and enjoyable, I know most of the aussie guys on this forum use you anyway and for good reason.

To everyone at EBMM I just want to thank you all sooooo much for putting your heart's and soul's into these instruments they truly are awesome!!!

Lastly, I am seriously considering a JP6 BFR and was just wondering if anyone can give me some feedback as to the tonal differences, playability differences, between the "normal" BFR versus the KOA BFR. These KOA's look to be pretty special bits of kit, but just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to offer some more insight.

Cheers,

Hey Craig, welcome to the forums. I'm sure that the Koa BFR JP will sound a bit different compared to the regular BFR JP since the Koa comes with an ebony fretboard and has the Koa top. I'm not positive on how it will sound, but my guess is that it will sound a bit thicker and beefier than the regular BFR JP due to the all mahogany body, and ebony board. Just a guess.
