Hello to all! I've been lurking around here for a few weeks and thought I'd throw myself into the fray. :D

Short introduction: My name's Brendan, and I'm a guitar player in South Orange County, CA. I'm 21 years old and have been playing guitar for 8 years. I currently play in two different bands, Peace Machine (progressive/heavy riff-rock) and The Jail House Rockers (classic rock, blues, jam), go to school, and work part-time as an office temp.

As a player, my main influences are Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Johnson, SRV, David Gilmour, Dave Matthews, and Jimi Hendrix. Musically I like a LOT of different stuff, to the point where people think I'm skitzo. As a result I'm influenced by whatever strikes my fancy that day. I don't really like country-pop, pop-punk, emo and screamo, or black death metal and maybe polka but thats about it. I try to keep and open mind.

As far as my infatuations with MM's go... it started 4 years ago when I was getting unhappy with my Ibenhad... I mean Ibanez, and was lookign for something new. I happened upon a Silhouette special in White Sparkle at the local GC and didnt put that thing down until the store closed. I knew i had to have one. Unfortunately, I couldnt afford it at the time so I made do with a few strats until then. But I finally got my hands on a '95 Silhouette with a Floyd a few months ago and what can I say... I *heart* that axe. I'd love to get another hardtail one and an Axis when i get more $$ to spare. I do have a '95 MIM strat thats been totally bastardized ten times over and thats my other guitar (aside from my Seagull acoustic) but the MM has seen 90% of the play time since i got it LOL.

Just wanted to say hey to everybody. BTW, I used to work at a local Guitar Center and I remember talking to kbaim a lot when i was there. I remember one time he came in with his Morse model and I spent my whole lunch hour playing it (he was kind enough to let me) and just shooting the stuff about guitars with him. I wonder if he remembers me?

So greetings to all.... and here's a pic of my baby!

Welcome Brendan! I'm assuming you already know then that this is the coolest forum on the web. Where else can you go to talk to JP, Luke, Vinnie, BP, and the rest of us 'knuckleheads'? (Yes, BP - I liked your label for us :D ).

Nice Axe! Are you going to drive down to the open house?

Hey guys. Thnaks for the warm welcome. (Back atcha, Keith!)

I seem to recall reading something about open house... I'll go look for the thread with the info. If its in September i may not be able to attend as Peace Machine will be touring with Gary Hoey sometime that month, I'm just not sure when.

One of my buddies from work just went to see Gary Hoey a few weeks ago at the casino and thought that he was awesome.

Note to self: Tommy must play softer than everyone else at open house.
;)

Sorry, Keith, can't promise anything. Take into consideration he's been playing almost as long as we've been alive and his ears have taken a whuppin'. His guitar tone is tasty and he will complement the other players but can def. drive on when provided the opportunity.
