Hey all-

[Yes, your Newbie-o-meter should have gone off....]

Just bought a 2000 StringRay4 that could use a bit of cleaning...especially the back of the neck. It has a gorgeous flame but is kinda dull due to the dirt build-up. What can I use to clean up this puppy?

Welcome Duke!

I'd suggest a damp cloth at first, with a little soap (to get rid of sweat/hand dirt), then a regular polish.

You seem familiar. Can't quite place that name......

Welcome, DPB! If it's REALLY nasty, I'd hit it with some super-fine steel wool then give it a loving (and protective) coat or two of gunstock oil. Chuck Moses taught me how to do it so it must be right.

Hey Jack-

Thanks for the info. I knew I could count on you....

(BTW, nice forum. I just followed the smell of the Bongos....and here I am!)

Will post pix when it's clean....
