Wanted to give a heads up. GC is currently running a special in store MM sales event. You have to call the store for details and pricing.

Here's a link to more info...

I buy a lot of gear from GC.
Enough that I can get them to give me special discounts (my wife taught me to haggle).
The last time I was there they didn't have any mm's on the wall, only a couple SUBs.
I don't know if they moved them out or sold them but they had another brand in the spot where the mm's used to be.

GC has been moving EBMM basses around. I know of several stores that will no longer be carrying them. Use the platinum gear search to find where they are. I am hoping to score one before the month is over. But work and family issues keep side tracking me.

Is there a code or a way to get this deal. When I asked the sales guy, he didin't seem to know what I was talking about. The bass I want has some scuffs on it and a bad case of fret sprout. Plus it was tagged with a rosewood fb. How can I get the store to discount for the scuffs and frets. They are selling it as a new bass but doesn't seem like it to me. Thanks!

I've seen SR5's in that shape go pretty low. I would offer them no more than 11 and see what they say. They may not go that low but you'll have a good bargaining position. Their MO is "Never let a sale walk out the door".

I've shown up in one of the GCs around Boston.

They had a couple slightly reduced Stingray classics, to $1519 or something for the cheapest, plus tax of course so you are right back where mailorder is. Quite disappointing, along with the total lack of any non-Stingray Music Man bass.

I sent a message to the store manager. His name is Toby Sheets. You can call him at the store and discuss...

I stopped in GC yesterday in Rockville, MD.
They had more MM bases than ever on display and had many on the floor for easy access (as opposes to hanging from the walls). I went to buy a complete set of Wonder Wipes and they only carry them for strings. I asked if they could order them and they said no. Just kills me when shipping is more than the part.

Stopped by Bakersfield on my way home from LA. I picked up a Pacific Blue Burst Stingray that only weighs 8.6 lbs!! I have heard of these mythical stingrays that weigh less than 9 lbs. Never thought I would get to play one much less own one. Pics to follow soon.

TWIMC, the Colonie NY store [Albany, to you outlanders] has
a 25th anniversary marked down from 2600 to 1900. Been
there since the intro. Coupla yrs ago it was clearanced at only
1800 but nobody bit, and it went back to 2600 til now at 1900.

I tried it, preferred my SR5HS, and so "come and get it". I was
gonna trade my Boingo 5HH if I wanted the 25th. Even though
that lets me keep my SR5HS, I still didn't want the 25th ... so
make sure you've tried one before you buy one long distance !

My 83' weighs over 10 1 /2 lbs
My 2008 weighs 8.25 lbs; I was trading gear and did not want/need another bass; the light weight made it an instant buy (plus it has amazing action and is possessed)
Some to care about the weight but I do; IMO/IME they are all over the place although many of the Pre EB SR's are boat anchors
