Right now I have done a shootout between a jackson slsmg with emg81 bridge, edwards les paul with sh4 and gibson plus 57 in the bridge, prs not sure what model borrowed from a friend dragon II's in bridge, and a ernie ball silhouette special...guess what won
ernie ball silhouette special ernie ball sounded the best from palm muting to open chords, very tight, articulate, just perfect for studio recordings (saosin, disturbed, nicleback, evanescence, etc.). my only deal is it's not mine but I am on an ernie ball music man mission to find the best studio guitar for me. what are the differences in tone between petrucci models, axis models, and silhouette. Is there something that is a silhouette but has a bit of a les paul sound to it? Could that be axis?
