Guitar Humidifiers

I was just at the guitar store, they had some guitar humidifers that you put in your guitar case...

anyone use any? I figured having a room that is well humidified is better than having one of these suckers in there...

Wow, a guitar humidifier that you have inside of your guitar? I wonder how that works...if it worked well that seems really friggin cool!! I'd love to hear info about this too!

Well, the one I saw was a small plastic container with two holes at the top, and some kid of hard material inside of it... the instructions said to soak in water for 5 minutes, then drain the water and stick it in your guitar case...

Well, a dampit is one I use for my acoustic. It's just a sponge inside a rubber tube with holes. Basically a rubber weinee. You could easily make the same thing. Buy a travel soap holder, punch a few holes in it, wet a sponge and stick it in there. TOTALLY the same thing, but probably $1 instead of $15.

you can easily make your own, using the above principles. I only worry about my acoustic when it comes to humidity. My studio is constantly the same temperature
