Petrucci is the co-cover story in the Dec. '06 issue of Guitar One Mag. (along with Paul Gilbert). Together they offer a "Guitar Workout" with video lessons on the CD-ROM. Looks like great stuff. It just arrived in my mail, and I'm looking forward to tearing into it. Also, the EB/MM JP6 won the Guitar One Mark of Excellence Award. Nice to see John finally get a cover story in a US guitar magazine. He sure deserves it. Get your copy today and start working out!

To follow up, there's a good interview and the CD-ROM lesson contains a performance and technique breakdown of the solo "Under A Glass Moon" from Images And Words. I've spent about an hour on the first few licks.

Great month for guitar is Cleveland. I'm going to see Vai w/Zappa, Zakk Wylde & BLS (on Halloween) and Johnny A. in early Nov. Satriani's new live DVD/CD is going to be released on Halloween too.

I picked up the Gigantour DVD for the two Dream Theater performances. They play "The Glass Prison" and "Panic Attack." The Megadeth set is good. I really dig Score, and the BLS Doom Troopin' DVD rocks. I like the new John Mayer CD too. Back to practice...

When mine showed up I was p!ssed... Of all the times to not get the CD with the magazine... I was on the phone to customer service in a flash. They rectified the error in my subscription and will be sending out one in a few weeks.

Petrucci and Gilbert in one issue! These guys are insane. Talk about inspiration to put in some serious woodshedding time. Actually they make me want to hang up the guitars and never look back.

It is frightening to watch how easy it is for them............I get Total Guitar and Gilbert has a piece every month. I just watch in amazement and haven't even attempted to play any of his lessons.......... :D :D One day..........

One day... I might be able to play some of their licks at 1/3 speed...

But it's all good, I look forward to playing my guitars nearly every day. It just torques me to no end that it took me this long to realize my dream to pick up a guitar and learn... But now I'm like a sponge, I can't get enough...

I haven't looked for a copy yet, but I'm told by a friend that this issue seems to be impossible to find in our local stores.

I've noticed when visiting Borders that the mags. I've subscribed to I get them much earlier than the newstands. One nice perk along with the subscription discount. Give it a week or two and it should hit the newstands.
