Does anyone know what kind of stompbox (hopefully, rack gear is way out of my league) can give me something similar to the clean sound that EVH has on "Feelin" on the Balance album? I can get something similar with my KORG Pandora PX5D, however, it is not that great live, and I need a stomp box. I thought it was chorus, until I looked at the patch; it seems to be some kind of harmonizer. Not too impressed overall w/ BOSS Pedals, so probably won't go w/ the BOSS OC-3, the Electroharmix POG seems like it might do it....I'd rather buy once than have to buy and return. Thanks.

Definately a chorus pedal, but I would think there might be also a mixture of the chorus + flanger + reverb which are all set on minimum levels of depth. What is an harmonizer if not a mixtured of the 3 I have mentioned, after all? Your best bet would be to get yourself a LINE6 Pocket POD, cheap but full of goodness http://uk.line6.com/pocketpod/

I've got something like the POD already, the KORG Pandora,...however, I need a live set up.

Great song!!

He used an Eventide Harmonizer. I have one, so I know what you may want to do.

Get a Boss Chorus pedal, need reverb and delay as well, but mainly you need your amp dialed in to have very little preamp volume (gain), and a ton of "power tube" saturation!!

That'll get you close.

Hey, thanks! Honestly, I had never heard that song until a few weeks ago, it came on the radio,......but I've heard that sparkly, clean crunchy sound from Eddie before. Yeah, I don't have the $$$ for the eventide rack mount harmonizer,.....what about the Eventide Modfactor pedal? My basic setup is going to be pretty simple,......basically Dist, chorus, wah, and delay. Reverb I have on the amp. Thanks.

Yeah,

The great thing about owning an Eventide Harmonizer HD 3000 D/SE is that I get to compare EVERYTHING to it!!! So depending on how close it comes to the EH, that's how I determine my choices.

I've tried most all pedals out there including the Eventide TimeFactor. For pedal delay, I prefer the Damage Control Timeline and for multi effects I prefer the Damage Control Glass Nexus. For dedicated reverb I prefer the Digitech "Hardwire Series" reverb pedal.:)

What exactly will the eventide Modfactor do for me? I was looking at the tonebone trimode for distortion,( I have the plexitube already, but don't particularly like the british sound) the MXR Carbon copy analog delay, adn I was looking at the TC stereo chorus/flange. I'm not sure what the eventide MOdfactor will actually be,...looks like it does it all except distortion.....Help? Thanks

Yeah, that's the problem, there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many choices out there to choose from. And, it's almost impossible to try them all (that's all you'd ever be doing!)

Then once you do chose the one you want, you have to make sure it fits into your rig without performing sub standard.

Very time consuming!! If I can suggest though, always do a real time comparison when considering a unit. If it is reverb, get at least 4-6 different pedals at the same time, and choose the BEST one.

You need to have a "standard" by which to judge (I use my Eventide H3000). MF has a 45 day return policy that (to me) is worth the return postage on the other ones that didn't cut it.

I've done this with ALL my gear, that's why I chose MM guitars & EB strings!!. LOVE EM"
