A video review of the Luke BFR can be found at: Guitar Player TV under the New Gear link. Not a bad intro to the guitar, but given the option I would have selected a better amp to showcase the Luke's versatility. The reviewer may not have been aware of the construction and tonewoods that make the BFR's such a unique line of instruments. Another omission was the excellent stability of the Musicman tremolo. Too bad nothing was mentioned. Hopefully, if a published review follows more details will be covered. EDIT:The Petrucci BFR was also reviewed. I just found it under the Guitars link.

I agree Rob, it left a whole lot to be desired. Maybe BP needs to create his own video review----sort of like what he's doing w/ photographing the BFRs. Of course I'm just joking but come on.

I really dont see how that was a review, it was more of.
'here is a new guitar',
'this is what it retails for'
'here is how it can sound if you plug it into this'

It's always nice to see MM's get some advertising, but that certainly wouldn't inspire anyone to go and try one for themselves, or buy one. What a shame. If you are gonna take the time to do a review, at least have some enthusiasm! If you dont like your job, get a new one!

Shocking, just shocking.

Playing a jp through a savage and a luke through a krank rofl
It would help if the reviewer could play the guitar and and/or had a clue about guitars in general.
Thanks for the reminder of why I dont buy that magazine

Yeah, good that they reviewed it period.

But really, it's a video review ... you have the chance to make it sound good. Instead of plugging Krank, get something that sounds decent in there. Wasted opportunity.

it was nice and vanilla like all of that BS

I don't think a more appropriate response has ever been penned! Outstanding!

Actually I thought the guitar sounded great. A little reverb or delay on the clean sounds would have been very nice but a straight, dry, clean sound is a great way to character of the pickups. Those pickups on that guitar make each string sound like an angel singing.

That BFR looks sweet. He does a demo with the Luke and Trex Viper Vibe pedal. Look under pedals. Nothing like putting a Fabulous guitar through a crap amp.

Rad Red going away anytime soon? If not, I may have to trade for a BFR Blackburst.
