hey guys,
i know this might be the stupidest question in the history of this forum.im looking to buy aguitar stand to fit maybe both my acoustic and electric guitars for my brand new BFR JP6.i was looking at alot on the internet and am wondering which one to get as im paranoid over damaging my new guitar or the neck on it.ive looked at the ones which you can tie your guitar neck into it or the ones that support the body and the neck is free.i know its astupid question but i dont want to do my new special ball any damage in the long run.

cheers

This is the one I'm using at home:

And for live applications I'm usually just carrying my plain classic guitar stand:

except for the big gigs when I'm using more than 2 guitars for the show (for those shows I'm bringing the guitar stand from first picture)

Sorry C-boy,

Can't help you here. I have my roadie hold both my guitars (one in each hand) the entire show!

Genesis "Ultimate" single stand. Reason being, if a double or triple type stand goes over, ALL the guitars follow suit!

Not a dumb question. I am looking for a decent stand for all of mine as well. Ivan's first pic was one of them from MF but some of the reviews said quality wasn't that good. My second choice was a Hercules triple guitar stand that automatically grips the neck of your guitar, but I'm not sure (I traditionally like guitars sitting in something not being hung by the neck, despite what guitar stores do).

There are a lot of threads if you do a search, it's just that I'm undecided.

I was wary of the hercules stands too for that reason. I've had one a few weeks now and my fears were unfounded. The triangualr base is very stable - much sturdier than the ordinary types. I really rate them now.
Hope that helps.

thanks guys.ya i agree about the hanging the guitar by the neck.the BFR,s are such beautifull instruments that i wouldnt fancy hanging them by the neck for log periods especially since the body of the BFR,s are fairly heavy with the alder, maple and mahogany tonewoods being used.

Mine is similar to this one. Mine is the rock star stand, actually folds up into a case. It holds 7 instruments. Nice and padded like the one shown. I have never had an issue using this stand at shows or practice.

Quick Lok. I have a 3 and a 5. Awesome stands, keeps the guitars separated so you won't damage one when removing/returning another and will fit acoustics and electrics. They also fold so you can store/move them easily. (See mine in my avatar.)

FWIW, guitars don't simply "hang by the neck" on Hercules stands. The tripod legs are coated with non-finish ruining hard foam rubber. The bottom of the guitar rests against the tripod legs. The hard foam rubber prevents the guitar from sliding the legs and the neck (below the headstock) gripper prevents the guitar from falling out of or away from the stand. When the headstock weight rests on neck gripper, it automatically closes. You can put the guitar into the stand one handed. When you pick up the guitar, and release the weight from the neck gripper, it releases so you can remove the guitar one handed.
