I currently own a MIM Strat, American Series Strat HSS and an OLP MM1 Axis copy. After much ridicule from another forum member, Spud Murphy, I am considering an upgrade to the OLP. I am looking at the Axis Super Sport with piezo. Not sure about HH or MM90's though. I would welcome any opinions as to which I should favour and also whether the difference between the OLP and Axis would be worthy of the extra outlay?

I have a dual Humbucker Axis Super Sport. Great guitar, really comfortable and loads of different tones available. I've not tried the MM90's on one, so I'm not sure what they're like.

As to the piezo, I'd definitely get one with it. Two of my EBMM's have got the piezo and they sound really great, plus it gives you another 'tool' to use to give you some variety in your sound.

I'd expect there to be quote a difference between the EBMM and the OLP axis (although I've not played an OLP). EBMM's feel great and really solidly put together, grab one, you won't regret it!

I've owned an ASS w/ humbuckers and piezo and I've owned an Axis Sport w/ MM90s and piezo. I much preferred the MM90s. However, I do not play hard rock, I play country and more low gain oriented music. The MM90s just have a more usable tone for me and since I play country I can really make them twang. The piezo is well worth it, I've owned six EBMM guitars and five of them had the piezo option including my current ax - Silhouette Special SSS.
