I don't miss any of my former guitars. But then I'm not really a gear whore, either, so my purchases are deliberate and infrequent. (No offense to the gear whores of this board, which would be most of you.. ;) )
I resent that :D its not our fault, we're still waiting for some kind of intervention

Mine was a 1991 Aria PE1200. Basically learn to play on that guitar, and sold it in my extreme debt phase for £250. One day a few years later, I found an old picture of me playing that guitar and decided I needed it back! I contacted the bloke I sold it to, he was happy to sell it to me back, and I got it for £220 and made a profit! I still play it occasionally but its very heavy.

When I was 5 my Dad bought me a Gibson ES125. I traded it for something(Can't remeber what), but I would love to have that one back. I think it was a 1959 model :(

im way on the opposite side of the spectrum here ... ive kept almost every guitar ive ever had except for a Gibson SG (i hate those now) and an ibanez edb 600 bass (also sucked) ...

now i have a handful of stuff i wouldnt mind getting rid of ... i think im gonna unload my PRS. between my JP6 and my Les Paul w/ P90's it gets 0 playing time. it just sits there and looks pretty. maybe ill ditch it and to fund an ASS with MM90s

my pregib steinberger. sold it to pay rent, took what was left over, put it with an SWR workingman's 15 and got a Redhead combo. can't regret it too much because it was the only thing I had at the time that was worth anything and I still have and use the Redhead... but I'd stil love to have that guitar back.

My first electric guitar was a TST-56 Tokai strat in candy apple red. The guitar was amazing but being a EVH nad Via influenced punk kid at the time (early 80's) I slapped a Floyd in her as well as a humbucker in the bridge. I also carved the lower bout much deeper for better reach with my fretting hand. I then proceeded to strip the candy finish off and painted it with spray cans of 1977 Oldsmobile green.

I still have the guitar (which is now a metalflake orange) but it's not the same. I miss it in the original form.

I've only gotten rid of 3 guitars in my time.

The first was an Ibanez PGM100. I traded it for my beautiful blue Axis. It always felt too big. Paul Gilbert is the man though!!

The next was my white Peavey Wolfgang Special. I traded it for a Marshall 4 x 12. No regrets.

Finally, I had bought a translucent green Tanglewood strat copy in '96. It was an incredible sounding guitar but I sanded it down and painted it black for some reason and it lost its vibe for me. I gave it to a friend of mine who is an artist and let him "rock and roll" it up. I never had the heart to ask for it back. Its just a cheap piece but I enjoyed giving someone a new creative outlet free of charge.

I really feel for you guys who've had to sell their guitars just to keep going....

In my search for a guitar neck shape that would let me play without pain I've had a lot of guitars come and go, but only a few regrets:

1. 1999 Fender '62RI Strat in Sherwood Green - had a bridge pickup that would peel paint, very strong David Gilmour tone - sold off in a fit of PRS GAS.

2. 1996 Hamer Studio in '59 Burst - great set-neck, 2 humbucker guitar, should have kept it

3. 2002 G&L ASAT Special Deluxe - this is the ASAT version with a tilla (i.e. basswood) body with a maple top, MFD single coils - great Townshend vibe, would be a good alternative flavor to my EBMM Silo Special.

By the way, I found the perfect neck for me in the EBMM Silo Special ;) .

I wish I had my Jackson JDR 94 (my first real guitar, and the first guitar I bought) and my Fender Floyd FotoFlame(squire series) that were stolen a few months ago back. Neither were exactly worth much, but the Jackson has bunches of sentimental value(plus the neck is awsome) and the Strat had Lindey Fralins that I put in. I had to rout out the pickgaurd so it would fit over the floyd since I went from HSS to SSS and all that other stuff... lol. It sounded great.

The local law enforcement around here is rather, non excellent so I don't know if I'll ever get them back or not. I think I'll have more luck continuing to ask around town than I will waiting on them to find them.
