First off Im so glad MM makes the classic series, otherwise I couldnt easily get these parts! Got a mute kit for my transition era Black/Black/Maple SR a couple of months ago, but needed a little color contrast so ordered a white pickup cover and white pickguard, was too much white so decided to switch back to the black pickguard. Im diggin it alot, reminds me of basses from the early 80's. I know this a black bass with a white pickup cover isnt exactly breaking news, but was board and thought Id share.

I think the white pickup cover is a nice touch!

Just out of curiousity, how hard was it to do that cover conversion?

Its not hard at all takes about 5 min. You just gotta make sure your careful with the pickup wires and its actually easier to take the pg off and set it back down over the cover than trying to shove the cover through the top side of the hole. The new cover is pretty tight in my old pg but it still adjusts fine. I chalk that up in elemental variance in the bass over the last 15 years

cool, been toying with the idea of ordering a mute kit for my '80 SR4 and my 95' SR Fretless along with a white pup cover for the '80.

Looks really good IMO.

I would use a white pearloid pickguard but i know you may not like that.

I actually bought a white PG (non pearl) with the pickup cover, but it was a little too much white for me.

Edit: you know I set it back over the black just to give it a look and it is growing on me. I may put it back on for a couple of days.
