Halloween is an American/Canadian holiday that started with "All Souls Day" which I'm guessing you're refering to.
It did start out as a somewhat religous holidah, but turned into a day where children dress up in their costumes and go door to door "trick or treating". Where they receive candy for showing their costumes.

and thanks to tim burton and "the nightmare before christmas," halloween is now celebrated in japan - mostly involving people getting dressed up in EXTREMLY elaborate costumes and breaking things. I recomend going to the hard rock cafe in central tokyo; it's like a meat grinder. (then the next day christmas decorations go up... it's so strange....)

Halloween is actually my daughters birthday so, in addition to the typical trick or treating, we usually have whatever family is local over for a little celebration.

Had her friends party today. Fifteen eight-year old girls playing laser tag and eating chocolate chip cookie cake. Talk about needing a tone control to roll off some of the high end frequencies . But good times were had by all.

I ahve been invited to my 22 year old neice's " Hef and Bunnies" party in Newport Beach.
the men dress up as Hef and the girls dress up as bunnies. I am going as a Playboy bunnie..............I will post a foto.....the fun girl is going as hef
