First of all, yes, it is incredibly tempting for me to have a NGD every time the UPS truck delivers something from EBMM - BUT- that would be a very bad business model for me. This thread is several weeks behind schedule, it's good to be busy at work!
With the exclusive runs of Diablo Blue instruments being somewhat like a child to me, it only makes sense that I would get one for myself. You might say "yeah, yeah, Pete, you already have an Armada w/ spalt quilt top and a JP6 w/ rosewood/ebony from the first Diablo Blue run in 2019." Yes, that is true, but I wanted to have a JP15 in Diablo Blue (quilt) as well. The most recent run of Diablo Blue was two batches/scheduled orders with production going from August 2021 stretching into Spring 2022. We had JP15s scheduled in both batches, and I had reserved one from the second batch for myself. Instead of rosewood necks with ebony fretboards I went with ebony fretboards on figured roasted maple (previously the roasted/ebony combo only came on the JP15 in BFR runs and it had binding with a clear satin finish - I wanted this to be oil/wax, no binding). The JP15 also got black hardware this time around, to further differentiate the run from the first ones in 2019.
Here she is, my Diablo Blue JP15 serial H02820 manufactured on 2/17/2022!
... I had also ordered a Hydrospace around the same time because I was not going to do the Majesty in Diablo Blue. It's a bit obvious that I can't help myself with blue guitars, especially when it comes to outrageous quilts, so here is Hydrospace M015752, manufactured on 2/28/2022
I think I'm done for a very long time (or maybe until my next special run)
