Today was maybe the first day that I decided to go on a gig with my SR in the hardshell case BUT without the help of a car. This meant that I had to change trains in the very congested and delayed London Underground and also walk some distance outside. It was horrible. What are your opinions about the use of a Hardshell case? Would you take it anywhere?

If I had to carry a bass in a crowded subway I'd definitely take a hardshell case. Much better protection, and a good tool for creating gaps in a crowd. Plus, if you're standing on the train, you can tip the case on its end and lean on it.

Put on some sunglasses, strike a pose, and you're now the wandering solo-bassist!

I use a heavily padded gigbag for that purpose.

The hard case the stingray came with is a nightmare on public transport. I wouldn't do it again.

I got a TKL case with my SR (I thought 2EQ models didn't came with a hardshell case?) a never put my SR in a gigbag, not enough porotection, I worked my *ss off for this bass, I don't want a psycho-going kid scratching it:D I've got my SR about a 10 months, and it still looks like new. the back is like a mirror

i use a coffin case with my stingray. not because its a coffin and looks goth but because of the size of the case its not much bigger than a gig bag but you get the protection of a hard shell
