I actually bought my Axis new with a pretty nice scratch in it. Well, it's more like a gouge. The selling price was $1,450 and I got it for $850 out the door!! And the knick/gouge is on the edge by the input jack....you can't even see it. True story!!:)

So nice to find killer deals like that. Now I'm always looking for defects on guitars;)

I really like the Sub finishes for this reason. Honestly, I'd like to buy something with a smokin finish on it, but every guitar I've owned I tend to sratch and ding alot. I play the hell out of em and I really am careful, but it just happens. It's a bummer for sure. But the main thing is that it plays and feels good. A couple of dings isn't really going to hurt anything, unless your a collector. Guitars are meant to be played.

Ah, don't sweat it. I routed out the back of my Morse for a battery compartment (for the piezo). Looked great. Few beers later I decided to route it out a bit more .. dropped the damn dremel on the back. Big big gauge. Covered it up with blue nail polish but it's still there.

Scars tell stories. Learn to love 'em. And even better if you buy with the scars already there ... lower price, you don't have to worry about putting the first ding on the body.

Hello

My Morse has scratches, a ding, some frets are getting dangerously low, the string saddles are worn, the single coil pickups cover are also worn (I pick a bit too hard ) ... Just have a look :

But it's my Baby ... I play with it every day, a rehearsal every week and some concerts.
The scratches don't change the sound :). I'm proud of her battle scars !

Ouch guitarman, that looks nasty...

Then again..gived the guitar a bit more character....and if you ever would want to sell it (hypothetically speaking of course ;)), you could advertise it as "extremely reliced"..and get double the actual value :D
