As someone mentioned earlier, these pickups sound totally different in different guitars and with different amps. If I am not mistaken, my AL HH has the same pickups and yet my problem is exactly the opposite. My AL sounds too dark through my tiny Blackstar HT-1R. It took me a while but after playing with pedals and settings my AL now not only plays great but sounds amazing.

So I'll give you a little hard learned advice.

Keep your stock pickups.....even if you decide to change them.

I bought my Axis SS used with swapped pickups. The previous owner sold the stock pickups. I've since decided that I wanted to sell the guitar to fund an Al HH. I've had TONS of interest in the guitar IF I had the stock pickups. Gorgeous flamed top. With the changed pickups (previous owner considered them an upgrade), nobody is interested in buying.....and I mean zero interest in the guitar.
