I can't believe I'd never tried this until tonight. It IS a preamp after all, right? So I checked it out for fun & curiosity. Sure, it's mono, but it definitely sounds good enough for practicing (with everything boosted), and it's fun walking all over the house & outside ... playing, with a decent level. Must be even better with the Bongo!

I've been dreaming of a system to plug between the bass and the cord to in-hear-monitor my playing during gigs..does it exist ?

I must say that the Pocket Rock-it seems appealing to me, I'm wondering if anyone used it - or another one :) in a gig ? Does it works?

I think I would feel funny with that thing plugged into my SR5 on stage...like people might think I borrowed one of my kid's toys or something.

Well, being recently converted to the HF system for my bass, I've been shocked by the drastic differences of my basss sound depending on where I was playing from, in the venue, soo..I was thninking it would be cool to have a tiny lil box like this for a non-area-dependent monitoring, small enough for my back pocket, but big enough to cope with my Bongo5HH :p

I just don't like how it plugs directly into your bass. I guess you could get an extension cable. I'm not familiar with the HF system.

I use the Dragonfly and it works great. But what gets the most use is my Cafe Walter amp. It's small (about the size of two cigarette packs) and gives you a true sound of what's coming out of the bass. There aren't any knobs to fiddle with, just volume. Pure, simple, portable sound. It's great for practicing when the kids are sleeping.

Hiya, Jack!

All it took was a headphone question to get you back?

Yeah. I'm easy. What can I say? :p

That and finally getting over being in a craptastic band that was anti-bass. (I'm not bitter....much).

:D

Hey!

Melissa!

All it took was a headphone question to get you back?

Dang.

I can see the revolutionary nature of my discovery and the critical relevance of my post were lost on you, Jack. Either that or I'm being grossly sarcastic right now. =)
