Headstock Question

Left Hand Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport Lefty - eBay (item 280211141483 end time Mar-28-08 19:15:00 PDT)

I noticed on this guitar that the headstock is black instead of matching or natural. I don't know much about these guitars, but I was was wondering how common this is because I've searched and couldn't find one like it.

someone already asked this question in another thread, looks like the neck is from a different Super Sport.

ya id venture to guess that the neck's been swapped.

a few years ago radiance red guitars came with a black headstock. but that was like 3 or 4 years ago when rad red was a limited edition color. i think maybe envy green limiteds came with a black headstock too but im not sure.

You do see the occasional swapped neck.

(I'm personally stockpiling parts for the day that I need the right piece. Just picked up an Axis SS neck for a future project.)

I have always liked to look of black headstocks - I remember EVH on a magazine cover with a goldtop EVH with a black headstock. Its looked amazing
