OK, so I restrung my Sterling with a set of 110-55s due to having to tune down a step for a recent Frod Stewart gig..... lemme tell ya, I've never played with heavy gauged strings before but OMGosh!!!!!!! even at concert pitch the things just rock! serious thickness to the tone and finally my G string has enough to it to play with it! :p

anywho, lovin' the heavies, might beef my 5 to a 130-110-90-75-55.... mmmmm, cables

:p

That is heavy! The heaviest ive ever been up to is the regular stainless slinkies, 50-70-85-105 and that was enough for me!

Heavy Strings - Power Slinkys

Power Slinkys are tasty.

I agree. I've used them on my Stingray 5. As Psychicpet said, the heavier strings give the G string enough guts to "use". The 2 bottom strings have a killer power bass. I can hardly keep away from these two strings.

Best wishes,

yeah 110-55's are fantastic... they can growl or boing (the only way to describe the sound I like)...... I just don't feel comfortable with anything less... and have a habit of breaking lighter guage...

Anyone know why Regular 4 String Slinky's are the same gauge(- the 135) as the 5- string Power Slinkys?

Because we like confusing you... :D :D :D
