I haven't played my SR5 as much lately, I haven't been able to put the Sterling down. I picked up the SR5 again this weekend and played it almost every day. I picked up the Sterling yesterday and it felt heavier  I broke out my trusty Normark fishing scale and put it on the Sterling and it weighed in at 11 lbs 2 oz. I then weighed the SR5 and it came in at 10 lbs 6 oz  The Sterling is Blue Pearl and the SR5 is Honeyburst. Are they different woods maybe ? I would have thought the 5 string to weigh more. Anybody else notice a difference between the 2?

Man, 11.2 lbs! that is one heavy Sterling.
10.6 is right inline with most SR5's, but that Sterling is definitely heavy.

Yup, that is a boat anchor for a Sterling. Mine go around 9.5 and 10 lbs. I had one at 8.5 once. SR5's usually go around 10-11. Sterlings are more in the 9 lb range (except for yours). A big fish.......record catch :D

You've just got a heavy Sterling there. :p Most of my SR5s are about 10.6 lbs. My HH being about 11.2 and my buttercream fretless being about 9.9.

All the others are about 10.6.

Well, it is an HH Sterling, and the matching headstock paint, extra pickup and electronics could add a couple lbs :p:rolleyes: Thats it, it must be the headstock paint, it must be lead :D
