It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask the Forums' Blessing on a new Member of the Family.

I've had the '78 since '84. Much loved, and much mojo'd, she is a monster of tone and playability. We've been in 39 States and (for the 1st three years I had her) played 5 sets a night/6 nights a week.

While I love my '78 'Ray, the combination of playing outside in S.FLA often (salt air and its' effect on the metal bits) and the fact that while I'm getting older, this Grand Lady is not getting any lighter: 11+ lbs, made me consider another 'Ray. And so, the Honeyburst is sharing rack space and playing time with the '78.

The 3-band takes a little getting used to... just a little, but she plays like butter.

errr, maybe Honey-butter!!

So - I'll go back to lurking, so much easier on the bank account!

Jack and Gav: If you see this and the nickname sounds familiar, there's a pic at the bottom you might recognize.

Gav: I'll check your serial# list, and send you info if it is not represented in the database.

Thanks.
I'm not sold on the pickguard. White pearloid with white p'up covers looks great. I don't know how available the covers are tho'?

Any thoughts on pickguard options?

I'd know that smile anywhere, Jimmy.

Don't lurk! Participate! I know, I know, that means you'll end up with a Bongo, but it's OKAY - really.

I had a honeyburst 'Ray that looked a lot like that not too long ago. At first I wasn't sold on the white guard, but the longer I kept it the more I liked it. That said, black looks killer on honeyburst, too.

Either way, nice looking pair of 'Rays! Jack's right, though. If you hang out here long enough you will eventually end up with a Bongo. And that's not in any way a bad thing. :D
