Hi everyone

I'm sorry if it's really a dumb question but I'm a little bit confused with the different types of patterns on the body of Petrucci BFR models.

These 2 photos both belong to Petrucci BFR Bahama Blue Burst model but as you can see, the patterns on the body are different. Can someone please explain me the difference and how to order if I specifically want one of them??

thank you very much

What do you mean by pattern..Grain pattern? Where the top one looks 'striped'?

This is called 'flame maple' the next picture is commonly refered to as 'Quilt maple'.

They are anamolies and figuring in the maple tree due to stress when growing. Makes for a gorgeous guitar.

Hello elegia, for most questions I would advise using the search function. You will find that this forum is very well regulated. Most questions can best answered that way.

To answer your quesion quickly the top is a flame top and the bottom is a quilted top.

But they look sweet.
I wish to live in states as it would be cheaper to buy this guitar(and plenty other stuff) there than in UK.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but I didn't think you could specify the type of top (flame/quilt) you wanted anymore.

Right now you can specify flame/quilt on BFR models & the 25th Anniversary models. Customer selection of figure is not currently available on standard models.

Both of those tops are fantastic!

x2 I love a BB Flame top, that's one of the best!
