Hey, y'all. My generic cable from GC decided to come apart, and now the tip of the cable is stuck in my 20th Ann Silo. If I take the back plate off and open up the compartment there, can I access the jack and just push the tip of the cable out? Or is there something else I should do.

I guess this is one argument for spending more on a higher quality guitar cable. :(

Do not...I repeat! DO NOT open the control cover!!!! There are snakes in there!

Take the cover off and push the tip out...Now go to GC and buy EB cables. Go on...I am waiting!

If there's snakes in mine, they're probably liquored up from the martinis! ;)
Would they be green snakes?

Yeah. I just visually confirmed that by a quick look inside. I didn't see any snakes either. I think you were just pulling my leg about that. :p

In all seriousness, do you think CS will give me a return authorization and let me send the guitar to you? I rather have you fix/replace the jack, Jon, than some local Joe Shmoe. I'll e-mail CS anyway to see what they have to say.

We can put a new jack in the guitar for you, but you can also have a local tech do it. It is a really simple job, but a local tech can't add the snakes. The choice is yours. I am sorry you didn't get the 20th snakes with your guitar, but we will make it right for you. I'm just sayin

In case anyone cares to answer, what's the advantage of using an enclosed jack? And why are they used only in certain Balls?

Hey, BP. Thanks for suggesting that I get the job done by a local tech. That's exactly what I did. It cost me $20, a heck of a lot less than a round trip to and from Jon Smith's tabletop at SLO. I was watching that guy like a hawk, though, while he was doing the job.:D It only took about 10 minutes, as opposed to a few days to get to and from SLO. Then, I got to go around GC with it trying out amps and various gizmos. :D
