Help me figure this out ASS question

Looking at an Axis SS on ebay...does not have the gloss finish on the back of the body. Is this a refinish or where they ever done this way?
AFAIK, they were always a gloss back. Thanks.

How odd ... perhaps you can post the S/N in the http://forums.ernieball.com/music-m...l-numbers-what-production-date-my-guitar.html thread and ask what it was originally.

Were there pics of the front?

Going by the cracks in the gloss, I would say its a refinish.
