Help! Help me find a semi-rigid case for my Bongo 5

I don't know how different the 5 string bongo is. I used to have a 4 string bongo. The cases for my Stingray 4's and the Bongo 4 were identical. They could be universally interchanged. I thought at the time that it was a bit of clever unadvertised engineering that EBMM made use of the same case for such a drastically different body shape. You may want to consider trying a Stingray case on for size. It might just work fine and any EBMM dealer should have one on hand.

The Bongo 5 is 4.1cm longer than the Bongo 4 because it has a longer headstock to accomondate for the extra string peg

Bongo 4 = 116.9 cm long
Bongo 5 = 121.0 cm long

I am not making these up they are all specified here:
Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 Bass Guitar
Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 4 Bass Guitar

Perhaps the Bongo 5 will drop into an SR5 case? Just a thought based on the Bongo 4 / SR4 interchangeability.

Indeed the bongo 5-string is 121cm.

I managed to eventually find a dealer in the UK who had an EBMM 5-string bongo case in stock. It's in the post now, so my search is finally over.

Many thanks for all the help.

Will a Bongo 5 fit in a Bongo 4 case? There is approximately 2 1/4 inches of available space above the headstock on my Bongo 4 so I'm assuming the 5'er will fit. The body size is the same on both.

I ran into the same problem. I love the Bongo 5 HH I just got,but I didin't get the original case with it. My Roadrunner lightweight hard case is too short.

It appears that it will fit. I figure since GC used to put the instruments out, put all the cases in the back and then just grab a case when they sold a Bongo, they were probably designed to be interchangeable. I'm just hoping someone can clarify. Who has both a Bongo 5 and a Bongo 4 that can go try to put their 5 in the 4 case or just compare the size of the cases?
