Guys,

I'm struck by Silo Special gas for quite some time now and I'm halfway through with making up my mind how I'd want it to be. The only thing bugging me is what fretboard would be more visually appealing...

Here's what I'd go with:

Tangerine Pearl, SSS hardtail, non-matching hs, vintage white pearloid pg.
Now, what do you guys think: Rosewood or maple fretboard?

For non matching HS, and white pearloid, I vote maple.

I do like Tangerine Pearl.

I would maybe choose rosewood with a matching HS, but maple works for me.

Love maple, but gotta go rosewood here. More contrast.

What color pickup covers? That could make a difference too.

if non matching I'd go maple if matching I'll go rosewood unless you can have an all rosewood board.

But as for the pickguard I'll go black

Patrick, I did a quick mock-up and its definitely maple.

It wasn’t good enough to post but I could email them if you wanted.

I agree with threeminutesboy...maple all the way for non matching HS. If you went matching on the HS...I'd go rosewood. I did matching on my Cab Pearl Axis S.S. and got the rosewood board...looks killer!

So far there's a vast majority for the maple board...you guys are giving me a hard time here!
I'm still not 100% sure, even after seeing Jeff's mock-ups (thanks again buddy!)...imagine if the rw board had some nice figuring going on...I bet it would look just right, too!

Of course, the most important aspect has to be sound and feel...as far as a sound difference between maple and rosewood is concerned I can honestly say I can't really make out big differences but I surely love the feel of rosewood...plus, it'd be the only rosewood boarded SSS in my stable then...

Keep on voting guys, the more the better!

Patrick Maple man, MAPLE!!!!!!!!!!! If you do have an inkling toward rosewood then it call for matching headstock and a black pearliod PG. I just think you need to do MAPLE:D:p

Keith, I take it that you're subtly trying to convince me that maple might be a better choice...:D

The only thing I'm 100% sure is that it's not gonna have a matching headstock and a black pg...but I'm still not over the rosewood board...:)
