I'm interested in this topic also. I have played both briefly. The Majesty at a GC in Buffalo and a 15 at a GC in Rochester. The Majesty played like butter. The 15s action felt uncomfortably high to me. However, I don't want to judge it solely based on that experience because Ive tried out other high end guitars at that Roch GC that I thought were very poorly setup.

Im actually looking for a 7 string in the near future so I'd be considering those versions of these two guitars, although for the Majesty, I'm leaning toward the Azzurro Artisan.

I own 2 Majesty's (Artisan and Siberian Sapphire) as well as a BB JP 15. They are very different with the same features lol. Both are amazing guitars.

The JP 15's neck profile is thinner than the Majesty. This is very noticeable right out of the gate. As far as action... that is easily addressed with a setup. The factory setup is almost never going to suit most people.

The maple fretboard feels way different than the Majesty fretboard (Ebony). I can't really say it's better or worse. I think it's personal preference. I LOVE my JP 15 but I prefer the feel of the Majesty neck and fretboard.

The JP 15 sounds different because it's a very different guitar. I would characterize it as less warm. I think that the Majesty just has a warmer tone. I just don't know how to describe the difference. You have to hear it.

For me, the Majesty is just more comfortable to play. This is where personal preference comes in. I think the JP is a degree more of a shredders guitar. The neck is super fast and the neck profile seems thinner. My personal opinion is that the Majesty is a better overall guitar for a variety of music.

Another difference that I prefer in the Majesty is that it takes AA batteries instead of a 9V like the JP15. They are cheaper. I haven't really noticed a difference in how long the batteries last because I just got the JP 15 last week.

Lastly, the JP 15 looks like any number of strat style guitars when compared to the Majesty - which is in a league of it's own.

This is my opinion. Others may have a different opinion. At the end of the day, we are comparing a Ferarri to a Porsche. Who wouldn't love a Ferrari OR a Porsche?

I don't own a Majesty but I am condidering trading my BB JP15 for a Majesty 7. I absolutely love the JP15 but since I bought a Mystic Dream JP7 a month ago I haven't touch the 15... I kind of find the neck too small since I am used to the wider neck of the 7.

I am not a shredder, just starting to get into prog metal but I play pretty much anything from country folk to jazz to hard rock and I have the feeling the Majesty will be a better fit for what I play.

But the BB JP15 is soooo beautiful! ;)

Majesty for sure, if you want something fresh looking and as playable as anything I've tried. By comparison the 15 is heavier, chunky like a cricket bat, and I think just plain boring. The bolt on neck doesn't help. I own the majesty, and played a 15 last year at an EBMM stand at a guitar show and it was utterly unremarkable. My initial thought was "Why have they gone backwards and built this??". Good luck!

It's a matter of taste and preference. I tried a Majesty yesterday at a GC and the neck is wider than the JP15, yet the Maj's body is more ergonomic and sthetically fresh and elegant. I previously owned and loved my JP13-7 and wanted a 6 so I went with the JP15BB6 and I was blown away. There's no better one over the other, just different looks and ergonomics as well as subtle yet noticeable sonic differences, I suggest you try the Maj and convince yourself....

Currently JP is touring with JP15, Majesty and JP16...proof that both are doing the job responsibly...
