As many of you know, I had a bit of an accident back in June with a lawnmower which resulted in me losing an inch off my middle finger left hand. Anyway to get to the point, I'd set myself a personal goal to be gigging again with the band for the September bookings. I'm absolutely over the moon that I made it ! I have now done three gigs and each time things are getting easier and I am managing to adapt. So... when a fellow forumite advertised a certain very sexy specimen (an EBMM of course) I decided I just had to reward myself with what I think and hope will be my ultimate guitar !!. Now the downside.... as usual, there are sacrifices to be made and I am being watched very closely by the 'love of my life' to make sure I don't just sneak another guitar in and conveniently forget to lose another. :D

Anyway my dilemma is this: . Either I need to move on my 2007 JP piezo Blue Dawn or both of my ASS's , purple MM90/piezo AND Black/gold 2006 LE. What would you do ? which would you keep? What would I miss the most ?
I love 'em all but I have to make a decision. I suppose I should tell you that the guitar on its way across the pond to me is a beautiful quilt/maple/trem 25th which I never thought I'd get the chance to own . I look forward to hearing your views.

My suggestion would be to find a top secret storage location.

I can help you out with this!!

Man......tough choice there. You've got a good variety of guitars now that don't duplicate each other (or the 25th) at all! You need to learn to be more sneaky. I'm spending time when I can down in DuBaldos because I sold one of my Axis Copy guitars for $100 (5 cents more than I paid for it)........so out goes a $100 guitar.....in comes some replacement guitar. I don't have to really consider the price difference.......

That MM90 ASS with piezo got my ears perked up, though.

Which way are you leaning Kev? What would you miss more on stage? What could the 25th replace? To which ones are you really most attached? Are you going to have to change your user name to The Artist Formerly Known as Purple ASS?

Tough one but personally, as I prefer the JP, I'd sell the ASS's (otherwise the missus may sell yours ). However, I guess it's a case of wait until the 25th Axis arrives and try them all out to see what provides the most options.

Forgot to ask, how's your mate liking the Rosewood ASS.

Frankly, the 25th is closest to the Axii. Hence, for variety I'd stick with the JP and move the Axii.

First off, Kev. I've gotta say I'm glad your back to playing regularly.:) It's definitely a tough call, but I think the easiest way to make the decision is this. Out of the guitars you want to move, think back 3 or even 6 months. Which ones have you been playing the most. The one that you've played the most your keep. And the one you been playing the least you sell.

Congrats kev, I was up early when the 25th was posted, never been so angry that I can't buy a guitar! - Glad it's going to you - you're a great guy, and look forward to seeing the gig pics!!

I don't know if it's the recession or old age, but it seems to be getting harder to thin out guitar collections, partly as they're luxury items, but also because you tend to appreciate what you've got - not easy!

Jusdging by your face book pics you use the Super Sports, my guess is the JP would be missed the least, but I suspect that 25th might also make the super sports case queens??

I say sell the JP - and maybe a Super sport in 3 months to free up space for a HH AL!?

Glad the road to recovery sparked a new purchase!

Thanks Smelly....I can't wait but I do feel your pain. Never thought I'd get to snag one of those though.
It is a really tough call. I think over the last couple of years I've used mainly JP and AL (AL is definately staying !!) I've used the LE ASS a lot since I bought it , I guess really as it was my lastest purchase. The MM90, for no other reason than it was my first purchase had almost been retired , that is until Saturday when I used it. Why I haven't used it much is beyond me, It is a fabulous sounding guitar !! ( and it lft the factory on the day my dear old Gran died in 1999...who's favourite colour was purple lol) The JP...I am very emotionally attached too as it makes my heart flutter everytime I open the case !! Unforyunately, at the moment I find it the most awkward to play with my shortened finger, but I think over time I'll get used to it. the Black ASS, I absolutely love this guitar, both looks and sound, but I know the 25th will more than cover. Trouble is , I'd need to sell BOTH ASS's to cover...what a dilemma !! I'm gonna hold fire until the 25th arrives and then see how I feel about it.

I agree with some earlier posts, the 25th is similar to Axis, so keep the JP.

OR, you could put a tip bowl out when your band plays. The singer could promote your dilema ! You could end up w/enough money to keep 'em all !! ;)
