I'm GASing like nuts for a new Ray. I've thought about one or two cheapies, but the thirst for Ray is too much. I'm just having trouble trying to narrow down what color I'd like. I originally wanted my Translucent Teal one back, but there is no chance. So then I was thinking Translucent Red, but now that I have a Red Lakland, I don't want to be a one color guy. I've also considered Blue Pearl, Carbon Blue Pearl, Pacific Blue Burst, Natural, Rolls Burgandy, etc...

So give me some ideas. I already know I want a rosewood fretboard and no matching headstock. Pickguard will be determined by when I finally decided what color. Don't tell me to buy used. I'm purchasing this bass brand new from a local store called Martin Music. So yeah.

Also, what kinda of sound would I get from a Piezo? Is it worth the money if I'm looking for alittle more versatility? I figure I'm buying new, so maybe I should go all out.

1. i like bursts ... so i am thinking about ... pacific blue burst, honey burst, vintage sunburst ... :) i dun really like sparkle so those above is my choices ...

2. personally ... i dun think we'll need the piezo anyway, people recommend to add piezo on the fretless ray instead, if you are not concern with money, well get it, but if you are somewhat budget .. dont add the piezo first :)

natural

I like the natural with the black pickguard. A classic look.

Although I have to admit that I like the natural with the maple fretboard, and it sounds as though you are looking at rosewood, which still looks cool.

Plus it's cool to know that they take longer to produce the natural finish stingrays becuase they have to find wood that looks good enough to just go without any stain/paint (at least that is what i have heard)

classic 'burst with the rosewood is pretty badass too.

Personally I like the Carbon Blue Pearl with an abalone p/g. That'd be sweet!:p And I always prefer rosewood over Maple fretboard.

Alright, anyone got any pics of a Stingray in Pacific Blue Burst. Right now, I'm leaning towards PBBw/ Rosewood and perhaps a white pearl pickguard.

And maybe a Translucent Red/Albalone for my second....yes it is going to happen.
